Position Overview:

This internship is designed to provide you with practical experience in applying GIS techniques to real-world challenges, while also learning from experienced professionals in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the GIS team in collecting, organizing, and managing geospatial data from various sources.
  • Contribute to spatial data analysis, including data cleaning, geoprocessing, and spatial modeling.
  • Create detailed and accurate maps using GIS software, effectively communicating spatial patterns and insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand GIS needs and support specific project requirements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of integral GIS databases.
  • Support the creation of interactive web maps and applications to visualize geospatial information.
  • Participate in field data collection activities if required.
  • Contribute to documentation and training materials related to GIS processes and methodologies.
  • Stay informed about advancements in GIS technology and share insights with the team.
  • Embrace a Growth mindset and actively seek opportunities to expand GIS knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Recently graduated with a degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Geomatics, or a related field.
  • Proficient in writing code and automating tasks.
  • Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
  • Basic understanding of geospatial data formats (shapefiles, geodatabases, etc.).
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using Python, Excel or other tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
